Hello,
   I am temporarily here at my Internet address in Sweden  and I want to
set up my old US Robotics Sportster 14,4 fax modem for my kids to use for
e-mail. Unfortunately, when I moved to Latvia where I now live most of the
time, the AC Adapter disappeared. I now have bought an adjustable
transformer that can be set to 9 volts and it generates 500 milliamperes.
Will the Sportster take this (I understand it operates at 9 volts or
thereabout)? Also, what is the polarity of the socket? Is the little rod
where the power supply attaches plus or minus. This can also be set on the
transformer, or at least on one of the many sockets it comes with.
